For the second edition of the Creative Spotlight series, Are You Bored Yet? has covered three writers working across Film, Fashion, and Culture.
VERONA FARRELL - FASHION WRITER
Based across Paris and Stockholm, Verona Farrell (AKA @secondhandhuns) knows all the right things to say. Having recently interviewed the Director of SATC and Just Like That for Vogue Scandinavia, where she has her own monthly column, her interview style raised all the important Qs like “Do you feel defensive of Carrie?” in the wake of modern-thinking on social media. Being attuned to a life attached to socials, Verona uses her platform to support her career. Reinforcing her style and passion through videos on red carpet looks, personal style, and her life as a writer, Verona is a relatable and authentic voice.
ARIEL LEBEAU - FILM WRITER
If you find yourself rarely without the glare of IMDB whilst engrossed in a film, then Ariel LeBeau could be the relatable voice you’ve been looking for. Working as a Writer and Filmmaker, Ariel has been able to combine her skillset to write informed articles on topics across the Film Industry. Ariel has written for i-D, Letterboxd (ofc!), and Ssense, covering a range of themes including red-carpet referencing and indie filmmakers.
LAURA PITCHER - LIFESTYLE/CULTURE WRITER
As US Editor of Dazed Magazine, Laura Pitcher is switched on to cultural happenings across the Millennial and Gen Z generations. Laura has also written for the NYT, The Guardian, and Vogue allowing her voice to be heard on an international scale. Laura's skillful approach to social commentary allows her to be an informative and relatable narrator on the lightning-speed trends of younger generations, there to inform us of what it all actually means.
That’s all for this week’s Creative Spotlight.
If you have a monthly reading list make sure to add these writers to it, and if you don’t… now’s a good time as any to make one! *insert joke about when is the best time to plant a tree*
Until next time X
